Nompumelelo Sibalukhulu Runji

Nompumelelo is a political sociologist and practitioner-scholar specialising in the analysis of power, institutions, stakeholder systems, and political risk under conditions of uncertainty. Her work focuses on how political outcomes are produced through shifting configurations of legitimacy, incentives, dependency, and constraint across state, elite, and institutional arenas.

She has over 17 years experience cultivating deep expertise in political risk analysis, policy research, and programme implementation. Her career spans roles requiring both analytical depth and practical execution — from managing multi-million rand grants to advising on politically sensitive policy implementation in civil society and government.

Her current work centres on developing the Critical ThinkAR methodological canon as both an applied analytical framework and a future training platform for emerging political analysts, with the aim of strengthening the quality, rigour, and interpretive depth of political risk practice.
